Every one of us has experienced or currently experiencing bumps in the road. It can be hard for everyone, including myself.
Sometimes, when you hit a bump, you try to process it, face acceptance from the situation and then figure out a way to go over the bump in order to move forward and carry on driving down that road. However, you can also get many bumps ahead that can come all at once, and sometimes that can be very overwhelming to deal with. It can also feel that you are going backwards when it actual fact, you are only zigzagging. In social situations, when things go wrong in people’s lives it can come all at once and as we are all only human, it can be very overwhelming, frustrating, upsetting and eventually it can get on top of you.
Most people would say you need to be strong, but when you have had no choice but to be strong anyway, you can’t always stay strong. Just remember that this is totally normal, your feelings are justified, and that it is ok to not be okay, sometimes. I would say to try and address the situation, try to draw out the positives from it and take each day one day at a time. Once you start taking those little steps then you are going to head back on to the right tracks again.
If something bad happens, surround yourself with the people who care about you the most. Whether it’s family or close friends. Sometimes they might not give the best advice so you have learn what will work for YOU. If you can’t understand a persons emotions or their feelings, at least try to listen and hear what they need to say. If they are unable to listen and can’t understand, then that’s ok but you have to do what’s right for you. In other people’s lives and their own problems, your problems are still valid too and you’re allowed to have those ‘bad days’ It is called….moods.
Understand the importance of emotional intelligence and sensitivity. Do not make judgments, or make unnecessary comments. If a person needs your support, be attentive and listen to them.
Life is full of bumps and if we all work together to help each other out, we can go over them smoothly and be back on the road in no time!
